Sermon-Based Small Groups
Small Groups are groups of 8 - 16 adults that allow us time to fellowship, pray, and discuss the worship sermon message. We also have opportunities in our small groups to minister to one another to meet spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. In short, it is where we do life together.

The book of James teaches the timeless truth that Christians must put their faith into action. Knowing God's Word is not enough. We must apply that knowledge to our everyday life, not only in thought but in deed. This twelve-week study written by Dr. David Jeremiah challenges us to WALK IT, DON'T JUST TALK IT. Join us as we dig into this rich and encouraging study.

Materials Needed: The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges; Bible
Intended audience: Men of all ages
We will undertake a deep study of God's Amazing Grace: We are saved by God's Amazing Grace. We are sanctified by God's Amazing Grace. It's ALL ABOUT GOD'S AMAZING GRACE. It's NOT about striving in our own strength. NOT about how many pushups we can do. NOT about how fast we can run the mile. NOT about how many letters we have after our name. NOT about the size of our bank account.
We'll read a portion of the materials each week and discuss it as a group on Sunday. Stop by for one Sunday to check us out - - - or commit to the whole study! We'd love to welcome you! The CBC Men's Sunday School Class is a great group. And tell a friend about us - - - or bring your Son! (If you let me know you'll be joining us, I'll do my best to have the required materials on hand for the July 12 launch!)

Meeting in room 212
Duration: 6 weeks - begins June 7th
Materials Needed: Bible
Intended audience: Everyone
Why does the New Testament have *those* 27 books? Why no more? Why no less? Does it matter what the Bible says if it doesn't have the right books? Was the Gospel of Thomas really removed by church officials, or was it never accepted as Scripture? What about the Gospels of Judas, Mary, and Peter? Do we have the right books? If so, how do we know?
Following the video series The New Testament Canon by Dr. Michael Kruger, we'll learn how and when the 27 books of the New Testament came to be, what makes these particular books special, why it all matters, and discuss how to apply this knowledge in our daily lives.

Exodus is an adventure story par excellence. It features a cruel villain (Pharaoh), an unlikely hero (Moses), overwhelming disasters (the plagues), a spectacular deliverance (crossing the Red Sea), a long journey (through the wilderness), a mountaintop experience (Moses received the Ten Commandments), and a grand finale (the presence of God coming down to the ark of the covenant, filling the tabernacle with glory). The story features unexpected setbacks and unpredictable delays, magic tricks (from Pharaoh's sorcerers) and miracles, and many close encounters with the living God. Join us for a verse-by-verse study of the Book of Exodus Part 1 (Chapters 1-18).
