Sep 6, 2020    Pastor John D Talley III

As we begin the book of James, we see that James exhorts the reader to have the right perspective on trials, seeing that they are from God for our growth and maturity.

// Small Group Questions

1. What did God teach you through this passage and sermon? Share the work of God in your heart with the group.

2. What questions did this passage and sermon raise in your mind? This would be a great opportunity as a group to use the Ask a Pastor feature and that way we can address it either directly or in the messages in the future.

3. How can we better focus on the long-term goals of God for our growth and maturity rather than the short-term pain of our trials?

4. Do you see God as a ready or reluctant source of wisdom in your trials? What does it look like to live in His wisdom, not yours?

5. How can the concept of heavenly rewards for those who preserve in trials assist us in having the right perspective on trials?
