Short-Term Mission Trips

2011 Haiti Mission Trip

On July 23rd 2011 we sent a team of 32 people to Jacmel, Haiti for a one week mission trip.  The team consisted of 15 High School students, 4 College students, and 13 adults.  We went with an organization called Praying Pelican Missions.  We did a lot of work with a local church helping them do some projects to get their school ready for the coming school year, doing some work projects at the houses of some church-goers who were still in need of assistance from the earthquake, visited a couple orphanages, spent a lot of time in the community around the church we worked with doing Children’s Ministry, and even played some soccer games against a local Haitian team.

Here is an article in the local newspaper that talks about our trip…http://www.derrynews.com/derry/x640616570/Calvary-Bible-members-help-out-in-Haiti (you’ll have to copy and paste in your web browser).

2012 Haiti Mission Trip

On April 21st we sent a team of 19 people to Jacmel, Haiti for a one week mission trip.  The team consisted of 19 people; 13 Sr High students and 6 adults.  We worked with a local church as well as a local orphanage while we were in Haiti, doing work projects, Children’s Ministry, participating in church services, and even playing soccer against local teams as a means to draw people from the community in so we could share the gospel with them.  Around 70 people, mostly kids, accepted Christ during our week in Haiti.
